Went to King's Wood again on 7th May and was very sad to see that the blubells are already past their best. What a year, torrential rain and even snow only a few weeks ago, and now days of absurdly hot weather and the bluebells have more or less been and gone.
I visited Great Maytham Hall on the 16th April (NGS open day) and their bluebells were out, as were some I passed on the way there. They were still partly in bud, so a good deep colour, but not yet arching their lovely necks.
I also visited Hole Park on 24th April - their bluebells were beautiful, a wonderful deep blue, almost fully open.
